Where are you located?
We send out the address to each attendee a couple of days before the concert!
We have an end unit townhouse with a small “Shoeless Sounds” garden flag in the front yard and a large flag hanging from the 2nd floor deck. The concert and food are up on the second floor. We don’t wear shoes inside, so we ask that you leave your shoes on racks at the door and come on upstairs. If you need help getting up the stairs, just ask.
No need to ring the doorbell. Just come in! And wear your craziest socks! We’ll have a crazy sock contest with a prize for the winner.
Where can I park?
There is plenty of parking behind our house!
What time should I arrive?
The house doors will open around 7pm. The music starts around 7:45pm. If you need to come earlier, be prepared to help us set up!
What should I bring?
Who doesn’t love dessert? It is a dessert/drinks potluck. Bring whatever you like – a bottle of wine, fruit, cookies…anything you’d like to share.
You’re a guest in our home. We will be collecting a donation ($25 – $30 per person) in our “teddy bear jar” in the kitchen. One hundred percent of the donations go straight to the musicians!
The artists usually bring merchandise so have a little extra cash or Venmo on hand!
Do you have pets?
Much to Will’s chagrin, we do not have dogs or cats, but we do have birds. If you see feathers or birdseed, you’ll know Bonnie and Clyde were rocking out to some music before you arrived. They will be hidden upstairs during the concert, though.
Can I bring my kids?
Sure, you are welcome to bring your kids that are 13 and older. We don’t have a safe place for younger kids to play or hang out during the concert. (You’ll see the gym as you walk in the door!) Since our house concert is meant for music lovers, kids who can enjoy the show and not cause any disruption are appreciated.
What is the seating like?
Because we live in a townhouse, our venue is going to be cozy! We will have seating for everyone.
When does the concert end?
Because we are in a townhouse, we usually wrap up the music around 10pm. You are welcome to snack some more and help us tidy up, if you like!
How would you describe typical performances?
Our concerts are intimate. The audience sits very close to the artist. This is an opportunity for artists to perform their own music and tell stories. We ask our audience to be quiet and respectful while artists are performing. House concert enthusiasts rave about hearing music in an informal, smoke-free atmosphere in someone’s living room. Guests can interact directly with musicians, often during intermission or after the show. Many house concerts feature acoustic performances, which means the music can be softer and more nuanced than the amplified performances you might find at bars and wineries.
